Players operate a meticulously crafted replica Revolutionary War 12 Pounder - powered by air pressure with soft cannon balls - and feel the authentic weight of history in their hands. Sponge, load, aim, and fire with the same deliberate ritual once performed by patriots on the battlefield. Every motion and every shot revives the spirit of the Revolution and draws people closer together.

The replica is made of fiberglass and wood, with electronic components. It operates at 150 psi air pressure and shoots soft foam 4-inch cannonballs at around 60 mph — roughly the speed of a solid high school softball pitch. Because this is a simulation of a devastating historical weapon, standard firearm safety rules still apply.

The gun crew takes positions around the cannon. One player tends the vent by covering it with a thumb to prevent air from entering and sparking any embers.
A crew member inserts the sponge fully into the barrel until it reaches the breech, turning the sponge a full turn to extinguish any hidden sparks and clean the bore.
The powder cartridge and cannonball are inserted into the muzzle. They are carefully pushed down the barrel with the rammer until both sit firmly against the breech.
A tube filled with fine powder is inserted into the vent to create a reliable ignition path to the main charge.
The gunner sights along the barrel. The crew adjusts elevation with the elevating screw or quoin and traverses the cannon left or right to point at the target.
The crew stands clear of the muzzle and the recoil path. The linstock with its slow match is brought near the vent.
At the command, the linstock touches the primer in the vent. The cannon fires, sending the ball flying. Stand clear! The cannon will recoil backward about 4 to 6 feet.
